Questing for Chocolate

It is hot as fire here today. And my co-workers and I are all varying shades of blah. And I'm just a wee bit on the grumpy side. Considering the panacea for my pain is chocolate, I decided to go on a quest during my lunch break. So, I hopped in the 110* car and went to the Teeter Dome (the largest of the Harris Teeter stores in Greensboro) as it's commonly known in this part of town. It's basically our equivalent to Club Publix in Tally, only better quality. Anyway, in a grocery store of this size, one would think individually wrapped chocolate candy would not be difficult to find. I was mistaken. I must've walked every aisle 235 times. And no candy. So I went around the corner to the Rite Aid and found the variety pack of Hershey's special dark, peanut M&Ms, and a Cadbury dark chocolate bar. I have since put them in a reserved part of my filing drawer, soon to be labeled either "chocolate," "emergency," or "emergency chocolate."

new job

In case you weren't aware, I'm now working a second job at Pier 1. It's alright so far; nothing extraordinary. Anyway, be thinking about Christmas wishes because I have a 20% discount.

altnernative discipline

It's always interesting to see how different cultures handle discipline. For example, in the U.S., many people resort to probation-type meaures, beatings, whatever. Other cultures might cut off a hand for an offense. In Thailand, however, they turn to Hello Kitty. If only this worked in public schools!
