Anchors Aweigh

Today was a glorious day in the great state of North Cackalackie, and I spent the afternoon kyaking on Lake Macintosh right here in the bustling metropolis of Burlington. Holly (friend I went to Ghana with) and her brother were also there. Suffice it to say that since I never learned under the excellent tutelage of Monk, my skills were sadly lacking. Holly and I shared a double kyak and could only function while back-paddling. In circles. Like Gypsy. It was rather hilarious, I'm sure. We eventually drifted quite near a neighboring county and backpaddled our way back, singing the Dixie Chicks' "Earl Had to Die" at the top of our lungs. The good news is that we had a fabulous time and got lots of sun, but not too much.

It's good to see you back on the blog! You've been missed. Glad you had a great time--would've loved seeing you go in circles!

I would love to have been floating with you in a kayak! It sounds like a blast. Oh, the joys of the Carolina's...water! Have a great day. Love, Ash

Glad you're enjoying your new home. However, I'm afraid you're going to have to move. Whenever Wilson asks about you I try and explain that you live in North Carolina. He then tries to repeat that, but can't for the life of him get North Carolina out. It looks like your states of choice are Alaska or New York- those he can say!!

Hope you're having a great week.

I wonder if he could say NC?
